Crazy Lady Wants Dogs Killed!

The tongue can be a lethal weapon, it can destroy one’s reputation.

Tengeri moved into our house about 3 1/2 years ago.  I smiled and said hi a few times, but she would sneer and look away.  Figuring that she was simply anti-social, I ignored her.  This was the status quo for over a year.

Then one day in January 2007 she approached me stating that my Aussie (Shadow) had bitten her.  To say that I was incredulous is an understatement, Shadow was 4 at the time and had never exhibited any aggression.  Shadow had been to puppy school, she went to the dog park regularly, I even took her to work with me.  At that time she was meeting 5 or 10 new people a day and had never had any problems.  So I asked Tengeri if it had broken the skin, she replied that it had not but that she had a bruise.  She pulled up her pant leg and showed me her calf but I could not see a bruise.  Figuring that Shadow had nosed her in attempting to herd her, I offered to formally introduce the two to ensure that there were not any problems.

In putting together information to put on this site I discovered the memo below written by Tengeri to the landlord about the event.  The memo below entered the public record when Tengeri attached it to her appeal of the rent stabilization board hearing.  The memo is dated 2/22/07…nearly 2 months after the alleged incident.

Memo from Tengeri

While the second paragraph is interesting for bringing out her paranoia, it is the final paragraph which is important to our story.

Tengeri writes:

The WHITE AND BLACK DOG attacked me when I went upstairs to see the very nice couple on December 31, 2006.  His [sic] bite left red and blue marks on my right leg and pain for over a month.  The owner of the dog stated to me that he can MAKE his dog friendly to me, and it would take a couple of minutes.  I was angry to hear that because if he is sincere and wanted his dog to be friendly to me would have made that offer over 13 (thirteen) months ago WHEN I FIRST MOVED IN. [Note it is the "right leg"]

Gee…I tried to be friendly, she’s just a grouch.  I assume that the black and white dog she refers to is in fact my blue merle Australian shepherd.

The funny thing is that it was I she talked to that New Years Eve.  She came up with a gift for other house-mates, I talked with her, then two weeks later she claims she was bitten.  So what am I to believe?  Maybe she came up, got bit, but didn’t let on because maybe she did not want to spoil the atmosphere of the holiday?  Or maybe the dog attacked her right after we spoke and it was all she could do to crawl back to her lair and lick her wounds and it was two weeks before she was well enough to come upstairs and mention it?  Or maybe it is a cock-and-bull story?  You decide.

So she claims this happened on New Year’s Eve, by mid-January she brought it to my attention as a bite, and then 6 weeks later it is an “attack”.  Evidently she wrote a note to the landlord on 1/28, four weeks after the event (it would be interesting to know if it was a bite or an attack or something in between).  So we have a moving target for what happened.  Since she kept it to herself for two weeks and since Shadow has never shown any aggression to anyone in the 2+ years since, I don’t believe it happened.

At the time I considered it a harmless misunderstanding, now with hindsight, I see it as the beginning of a pattern of delusions, lies, and harassment.

By her own estimate, Tengeri has called the police 100 times on various house members.  She called the police to report that the microwave was out of order, but not over a dog bite?  Hmmm…who’s going to believe that?

Alright, a boring beginning, but it gets better…stay tuned.

Edit: The “very nice couple” that she mentions twice are now her sworn enemies.  The male is the same one who she testified to have invited her to engage in group sex shortly after she moved in.  People with poor memories make poor liars.  It is not certain to me if Tengeri simultaneously holds these contradictory beliefs or if she careens from one belief to the next.
